Looking for an easy yet magical Christmas craft? These pocket doily stars are delicate, nostalgic, and only take a few minutes to make. With their lace-like patterns, they look beautiful hanging in windows, on the tree, or even grouped together for a festive display.
What You’ll Need
6 paper doilies (all the same size)
Craft glue or glue stick
String, twine, fishing line, or ribbon for hanging
Step-by-Step Instructions
Fold the left and right edges of a doily into the center.

Fold the doily in half to create a rectangle shape.

Secure the folds: use some cellotape on either side to stick the folds together.

Repeat with 6 doilies total.

Apply glue in an upside-down “T” shape (along the bottom edge and up the center to the base of the lasered edges). Glue all the folded doilies together in a stack.

Attach a string, ribbon, or fishing line to the last doily before finishing.
Tip: Use fishing line if you want your star to appear floating or “invisible” once hung.

Glue the last doily to the first, fan open into a circle, and your star is complete!

Extra Tips
Use metallic or colored doilies for a modern twist.
Add glitter to the edges for sparkle.
Mix small and large stars to create a magical Christmas wall or window display.
Perfect as a lightweight tree topper too!

Why You’ll Love Them
These doily stars are budget-friendly, beginner-friendly, and carry that cosy handmade Christmas feeling. They’re the kind of craft that looks intricate but only takes a few minutes — perfect for last-minute decorating or festive family fun.
