Bringing Back The Art Of Gathering
Helping You Say "Come Over" More Often
Why I Created This
Hi, I'm Lindsey
I created Celebrate at Home because i feel like we've lost something important.
Growing up, my mum was always meeting friends for a cup of tea and a chat. She'd regularly have people over to the house, and every week she'd host a small gathering after her weigh-in group. They'd sit together, enjoy a treat, catch up on life and spend time in each others company.
She'd visit friends in their homes too. It wasn't unusual to pop round for a coffee, meet for lunch, or gather for no particular reason at all.
Looking back, there was a real sense of community and friendship in those everyday moments.
These days, that seems much less common.
Life is busy. We're all connected digitally, yet many of us spend less time together in person. It can feel like everyone is too busy, waiting for the perfect opportunity, or simply out of the habit of inviting people over.
Even sitting down for a meal together as a family seems to be becoming less common, and honestly I find that really sad.
Celebrate at Home is my small way of encouraging us to bring some of that back.
Not through elaborate entertaining or expensive dinner parties, but through simple, simple everyday gatherings.
-
A friend over for a cup of tea and biscuits
-
A takeaway and a movie
-
A simple lunch around the kitchen table
-
A few friends gathered for coffee and conversation
-
A cold drink sat in the garden
-
A walk in the park with a takeout coffee
And if you enjoy styling a table, planning a menu or creating a theme, then absolutely do that too - I absolutely LOVE doing this.
But they're not the point.
The point is making time for people.
Creating space for conversation, friendship and community.
Because I don't think our homes need to be bigger, prettier or more impressive.
I think we just need to be open.
So whether it's coffee for one friend or dinner for twelve, my hope is that Celebrate at Home inspires you to say, "Come Over!"
