Halloween doesn’t have to cost a fortune! With just a few inexpensive items, you can create a super cute and spooky Ghost Lamp that also doubles as a cosy seasonal accessory in your home. The best part? It takes less than 5 minutes to put together.
What You’ll Need (just 5 items):
1 small table lamp (with a small shade — the witch’s hat needs to fit over it!)
White XL cheesecloth (or a similar lightweight material)
Witch’s hat (a cheap lightweight costume one is perfect)
Black paper (or print-out) for ghost eyes
Glue gun (or strong glue)
How to Make Your Ghost Lamp:
Prepare the lamp → Fold your cheesecloth into a square with several layers so it’s nice and thick. Drape it evenly over the lampshade so it sits around the lamp base.

Make the eyes → Cut two ghost eyes from black card or paper (I just printed mine out since I had no black paper or card).
Attach the eyes → Use a tiny dab of glue to stick the eyes onto the cheesecloth where you’d like them. (Tip: Try the witch’s hat on first so you know where the eyes will sit best.)

Top it off → Pop the witch’s hat onto the lamp.
Switch it on → That’s it! A spooky yet cosy glow perfect for Halloween evenings.
Cosy Hosting Tip:
Place your Ghost Lamp on a side table, mantel, or windowsill to add a warm, eerie glow. Pair it with pumpkins or autumn garlands for extra seasonal charm.
