As the leaves turn golden and the air grows crisp, there’s nothing lovelier than gathering friends and family with a warming drink in hand. This Cosy Spiced Autumn Punch brings together seasonal fruits and gentle spices, with just the right touch of sparkle. Whether you serve it warm for a comforting hug in a mug, or chilled over ice for a festive fizz, it’s the perfect sip for autumn evenings, dinner parties, or simply curling up by the fire.

Ingredients (serves 8–10):

  • 1L apple cider (or cloudy apple juice)

  • 500ml cranberry juice

  • 750ml sparkling water (add just before serving)

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 2 star anise

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

  • 4–5 fresh ginger slices

  • 100ml spiced rum (optional, for grown-ups)

  • Fresh cranberries & rosemary sprigs (for garnish)

Method:

  1. In a large pot, combine apple cider, cranberry juice, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, orange slices, and fresh ginger.

  2. Simmer gently for 15–20 minutes to let the flavours infuse.

  3. Remove from heat, strain out the spices and ginger if you prefer a smoother taste.

  4. Stir in spiced rum (if using).

  5. Just before serving, pour in sparkling water.

  6. Serve warm in mugs or chilled over ice with apple slices, cranberries, and rosemary.

Cosy & Merry Tip: For an extra autumn feel, rim the glasses with cinnamon sugar before pouring.
